The group show celebrates a Pittsburgh-based creative platform dedicated to Black culture, marking three years since the ALMA | LEWIS residency launched in 2021.
Professors Marvin Touré and Addoley Dzegede are among the artists featured in the group exhibition “ALL STARS: A Constellation of 10 Resident Artists,” celebrating three years of the residency program at ALMA | LEWIS. Curated by Founding Executive Director and Chief Curator Kilolo Luckett, the show highlights the impact of the experimental art space, which centers Black culture and critical dialogue and whose name is inspired by abstract artists Alma Thomas and Norman Lewis.
Opening on November 23 and running through April 4, 2025, the exhibition also serves as a reunion for artists, most of whom are based outside of Pittsburgh and who each participated in the residency since its launch in 2021. The free opening reception from 6–8pm offers an opportunity to meet the artists, including Murjoni Merriweather, Tunde Wey, Yaw Owusu, Tajh Rust, Kleaver Cruz, María de los Angeles, Rodríguez Jiménez, Stephen Towns, and L. Kasimu Harris.
